Summary
Now, considering the spreading pattern of COVID-19 where ATM stations including physical cash (paper/plastic notes and coins) will carry the infections up to an alarming number of hrs or even days will expedite each countries journey towards contactless payments. At the same time, we need to plan ahead and try to leverage the existing ATM network by repurposing them to provide new services to mankind.
